CNCR Skater’s Development Seminar
October 6th & 7th, 2012
Prince George

The Cariboo North Central Region is proud to present this years’  - Skater’s Development Seminar!

All skaters in the Elementary Freeskate Events and higher are encouraged to participate.

We are excited to have a dynamic and exciting group of moderators coming to the CNCR this year for our annual development seminar!  Steve Muff, Karen Mongrain and Keegan Murphy will be working both on and off the ice with skaters of all levels with a focus on skating skills and detailed jump technique.
Skaters will participate in sessions over the course of two days.  On-Ice sessions will take place at the Kin 3 arena.  Locations for off-ice classes will be announced when the groups and schedules are out, one week prior to the seminar.  Skaters must bring appropriate running shoes for off-ice sessions.
In addition to the 2 day seminar, skaters will have the opportunity to receive feedback on their programs.  Skaters who are members of the 2013 Region Development Team (new as of Sept 1st), the 2012 Region Talent and Junior Talent Teams (as of April 2012), and the Provincial Development Team are invited to participate in this portion of the weekend. This will be on the Friday evening, October 5th in Kin 3. Steve Muff will be facilitating this portion of the weekend, and will provide detailed written feedback for skaters and coaches.
Another exciting addition to our development seminar is the opportunity that all Region and Junior Talent Team members will have working in small groups and one-on-one with guest moderator Jason Mongrain!  Jason will be conducting coach workshops on the technical breakdown of jumps, which he will then take on to the ice to work with those skaters on the above mentioned teams.  We are very fortunate to have Jason coming to work with both the coaches and then directly with the skaters, and we are excited to be able to offer this to the Talent Team members:)
Please ensure that you provide the correct information when completing your registration.  Groupings will be based on the information you provide, and skaters will not have the opportunity to switch groups for any reason.  IF you have a skater who has NEVER participated in this event before, and is working on jumps no higher than a toe-loop, they will be in the Star 1 group.  The average age for this group is under 7 years old.

Registration Fee for the two day seminar: $120.00
If you are a member of the PDT, Regional Talent, Junior Talent or 2013 RDT: Registration Fee is $115.00
Registration Fee for Junior Academy (or Star 1 – working on waltz jump, salchow, toeloop - never competed, NEW to this type of thing): $65.00
Registration Fee for the Evaluation Portion only (Team Members only can apply): $25.00 (for 1 program – your choice if you have two) – If time permits we will open it up for 2 programs per skater at an extra cost of $10.00 for the second program. Notice will be sent out 1 week prior after the schedules are made.
